                 Activity: RESEARCH AND FINDINGS

Currently, a huge amount of energy is wasted due to appliances running unnecessarily. Too much wastage of energy resources and higher electricity cost because of this. People have a trouble of forgetting to switch off home appliances. (elderly and differently abled person on a wheelchair who cannot reach the switch for the switching on/off the appliances)

The main objective of this development is to study and build the design of Internet of Things (IoT) and how it can be used to observe the power consumption used by the home appliance. To achieve the targets, the task for this project to complete is simplified as below:

• To develop a voice recognition home automation system by using Google Assistant.
• To ease people handling their home device or appliances by consuming less time handling it manually.

What is Google Assistant?

The Google Assistant is an artificial intelligence-powered virtual assistant developed by Google that is primarily available on mobile and smart home devices. Unlike the company's previous virtual assistant, Google Now, the Google Assistant can engage in two-way conversations.

The Google Assistant that already comes with the Android OS also by using an Apple iOS can be installed with Google Assistant from the App Store. Google Assistant is a fast-emerging technology nowadays. Thus, it helps the device become future-proof without being easily obsolete. On Android phones and tablets, the Google Assistant’s languages are available in English, Chinese (Traditional), Dutch, Danish, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Italian, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Swedish, Spanish and Thai.
